Welcome and happy reading, fantasy-lovers!
It’s been great, sharing with you the part of Legends of Lorata Book Two Traipsing Light and Shadow that I work on for Camp NaNpWriMo. I really appreciate all of your likes and follows. I love seeing that people enjoy my writing!
With his section done, Book Two is on its way to its end. There is so much that I wish I could tell you right now, but I can’t– it would give away far too many spoilers! Right now Book Two is just under six hundred pages (in the font and spacing it’s set at) and over 310,000 words– way longer than Book One. I am not sure whether I would ever split it into two books, but it might have to happen.
I know that some authors get published with a smaller first book and then create longer sequels to continue the saga. Others are able to break in with a long first novel, and Book One is already long as it is. Do you like longer books, or several smaller ones? How would you feel about Book Two being split. Keep in mind, I may or may not self-publish that decision is not yet final. Tell me your thoughts in the comments below!
What is next for Legends if Lorata? Once Book Two is done, probably a short break. In November, I want to finish up my space drama. You can read parts of it in my archives No Distance Greater than the Stars. It’s me trying my hand at science-fiction, and I’ve really enjoyed writing it. I should admit, I’ve done as much research as I have writing in order to make sure it’s not too inaccurate (fictional). When I finish my sci-fi, it’s back to Lorata in Book Three. You might also see some more of my ancient lore in “The Princess of the Kingdom of Legend.”
Thank you all for reading– and keep it up! I’m very happy to have you all on board, and look forward to your messages.
Much love,
Eleanor Willow
