As a fantasy writer, my main goal is to write. I have a lot of things that keep me busy, so it’s never a dull moment. Right now, book one has been written from beginning to middle to end. All that’s left to do is edit, and it’s going to get a lot of that. I also plan to prepare trying to get published, which I know is a long and trying process.
Lorata is a world that I have held very dear to my heart for as long as I can remember, and the choice to share it with those who love the fantasy genre is, well, enough to make even a dragon nervous. In the end, I have to do it. I spend years writing, even if it was only for my own sake some days, but now that book one is, basically, finished, I feel as though it is something epic enough to share.
Until I can get to the point where book one is ready to hit shelves, which could take a dragon’s lifetime for all my luck, I am going to write here. I will still be editing book one, and writing books two and three, but I am going to share something else online. You will be able to read a story that takes place long before book one begins, something that may or may not end up being long enough to stand as a book on its own. We shall see. I may be posting short stories here and there as well.
What I will tell you right now is that I am a writer, through and through. When I write my stories, I work very hard at pulling words together in as creative a way as I can, to really say something with those words. My first posting there. the quote from Shu-Giri in book two, will attest to that. To that effect, I am prolific… a writer’s way of saying that I write a lot. To express something is so few words, to confine an expansive and deep concept to only a smattering of terms is not something that I am known for. To those readers out there who seek out the longer books, who revel in the seas of words that authors stir together, I invite you to partake. I hope that you consider Lorata a treat.
